Rubberstamp Webb

UPDATE:  On Tuesday, August 27th, Don Webb actually stood up to "The Big Three" and fought against the proposed Marinapark hotel.  Could it be that Don Webb isn't just a rubberstamp after all?

Or maybe Don just regrets his actions on December 9, 2003, when he actually nominated Tod Ridgeway to be our next mayor!  Perhaps that "Team Newport" loyalty was clouding his better judgment...

Don Webb is the councilman for District Three, comprised of Newport Heights and Dover Shores.  He's regarded as the historian of the council.

Don is one of those guys that you really can't say anything bad about (other than maybe his 1960's suits!).  Seriously, Don is a nice guy.  Maybe too nice, because we can't help but notice that he rarely speaks up against the three in the middle.

Time and time again, we see him just approve what Ridgeway, Bromberg, and Adams put in front of him.  Sure he may ask a question or two every now and then, but rarely ever have we seen him vote against them.

It should be noted that in the last election, Don ran together with Tod Ridgeway and Gary Adams under the guise of "Team Newport".  Could his loyalties to Team Newport be clouding his better judgment?

We hope not, but for now, we're coining Don - "Rubberstamp Webb".

We wish that we had more to say about the man, but quite frankly, we've never really heard him express much of an opinion, so we're going to have to cut this page short.  Sorry Don.  Or is it, Uncle Don?
